Arrival

On your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you’ll be greeted at the airport by your driver guide who will assist you with your bags and transfer you to Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa; a vision of charming Mediterranean architecture, pastel color palettes and lush, green fairways overlooking the sparkling waters of Africa’s largest lake. With its terraced rose gardens, rustic bridges, arched pool terraces and shaded colonnades, this privileged enclave feels more like a Tuscan hillside village than a five-star golf resort and spa.

Day 2

Uganda Wildlife Education And Conservation & Ngamba Island

After breakfast, you’ll visit Uganda Wildlife Education and Conservation (UWEC) for a personalized adventure! Get up close and personal with the animal ambassadors, and have a once-in-a-lifetime experience. You will have a closeup and personal encounter with the lions, elephants plus many more wonders during your behind-the-scenes tour of the animal rescue journey. Have a leisurely lunch in a restaurant overlooking Lake Victoria, the largest freshwater lake in Africa, in a safe and clean environment.

At 12:45 am, take a boat cruise out on Lake Victoria to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary and have a chance to view chimpanzees feeding. You will also be treated to sights of monitor lizards, birds, and photographic opportunities. Upon arrival at the sanctuary, you will proceed to the visitor’s center where you will be introduced to the project, its history, chimpanzee and their plight. You will receive a personal orientation by a chimpanzee caregiver and view feeding of the chimpanzees from the visitors’ raised platform area along the edge of the sanctuary fence. Later you will return to the hotel.

Day 3

Transfer To Jinja

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Jinja via Sezibwa Falls located 45km away from Kampala city. Enroute to the magnificent greenery of Madhvani tea plantations and the Kakira sugar plantations. Next stop at Mabira Forest and enjoy the cool breeze as you hike through forest. Our guide will share the rich heritage of the Uganda people who lived in the forest and you will have opportunities of sighting or listening to different bird species, beautiful butterflies, primates, and tree species. Have your lunch in Jinja town and thereafter proceed to the source of the Nile where the Nile starts its 4000-mile journey to the Mediterranean Sea from Lake Victoria. Day 4

White Water Rifting Swap Out For Quad Biking

It is a day of pure thrills. Experience a true source of the river which is believed to have been discovered by John Hanning Speke on August 3rd, 1858. At the source, stands the mighty Lake Victoria which has been thought for a long time to be the source of the Nile. Waters from the large lake leave by the Victoria Nile to head north to join the Albert Nile in northern Uganda. When the water leaves the massive Lake Victoria, it does so in a spectacular fashion. You will spend the day on the River Nile rafting. The family white water rafting experience let you sit back and relax as your guides who experienced in kids rafting take over and entertaining your kids, ensure that your they are having the time of their lives, but also make sure they are learning about the river and taking safety seriously.

NOTE: Minimum age for white water Rafting is 12 years and Quad Biking is 7 years

Day 5

Horse Riding And Transfer To Murchison Falls National Park

Relax at the lodge and later go for family horse riding. There are various opportunities for cantering, and the ride takes in the local village and a section along the Nile. After lunch, you will drive to Murchison falls and check in at Paraa Safari Lodge.

Day 6

Game Drive And Boat Cruise

Murchison Falls offers an excellent diversity of wildlife. You will be taken for a morning game drive where you will finally spot several mammals including warthogs, antelope, lions, hyenas, giraffes and primates among others. You will then head back to your lodge to have lunch, freshen up and prepare for a boat cruise. You will cruise approximate 3 hours on the water for excellent safari viewing to and from the falls, the boats offering the opportunity to witness up-close the teeming hippo and crocodile populations on the river as well as a plethora of animals and birdlife on the river banks.

Day 7

Hot Air Balloon Safari

Wake early on this day and go for a 5:00 am hot air balloon. You will be given a briefing on the safety precautions, rules and regulations as you get ready to hop aboard the balloon. Once aboard, the pilot will launch for set off and the blowing wind will help the balloon rise to several feet off the ground and soar above the treetops. The scenery up there is spectacular and the feeling of the fresh air blow in face and air is very sensational. You will be rewarded with an aerial view of the Savannah below teaming with all kinds of wildlife, including large numbers of animals that crowd the Banks of the great Nile. The hot air balloon tour, that normally takes about 1 hour, you finish off with a special bush breakfast and a bottle of Champagne. You will then continue with a short game drive back to the lodge

Day 8

Transfer To Lake Mburo

After breakfast you will be transferred to lake mburo national park.  Have lunch before you proceed with a boat cruise. The cruise on the lake equally guarantees one a view of the amazing flora and fauna at the national park alongside wildlife such as crocodiles, hippos and bird species such as african fish eagles, pelican, king fishers, herons, cormorants, rare shoe bills and hammer kobs.

Day 9

Game Drive And Community Visit

Lake Mburo national park is endowed with several wildlife and bird species among which you may lay your eyes on, they include but not limited to Elands, antelopes, buffaloes, giraffes, topis, warthogs, zebras, water bucks and impalas. Besides the park is the only in Uganda that is home to the impalas.  After breakfast, you will go for a game drive, likely to see buffalo wallowing in the mud, zebra, impala, topi, bush buck, reed buck, oribi and warthog.

Take a walk over to a traditional Bahima homestead to learn about their cultural traditions and their way of life. Activities include learning about the Ankole long- horned cows with an opportunity to try your hand at milking, understand the ghee making process, taste milk and much more.

Day 10

Transfer To Entebbe Via Ziwa Rhinos Sanctuary

After an early breakfast, you will drive to Entebbe with a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking; here you will find both black and white rhinos. The sanctuary was set up in 2005 to breed and later introduce Rhinos to Uganda’s major game parks. After lunch, you will proceed to Entebbe and check in at Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa.

Getting there

All international flights only have safe landing at Entebbe International Airport which is the only international airport in the country. Direct flights are available from London by British Airways, Brussels by Brussels Airlines, Istanbul by Turkish Airlines, and Amsterdam by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. There are direct flights from Doha by Qatar Airways, Dubai by Emirates Airlines. Inter-Africa airlines include; Ethiopian Airlines, South African Airways, Egypt Air, Air Tanzania, Air Uganda, Kenya Airways, Rwandair Express, Fly 540, and Precision Airlines.

Passport and Visas

To enter Uganda, a passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry is required by all nationalities.  All persons intending to come to Uganda for holiday, tourism, business, study, visit, medical are required to apply and obtain a visa online. https://visas.immigration.go.ug/#/apply.  You can also apply for an East African Tourist Visa. This is valid for 90 days and allows multiple entry into Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda. Please be aware that E-Visas are valid for 90 days after issuance. Therefore, do not apply for your E-Visa too far in advance.

Vaccinations

A yellow fever vaccination is currently required of ALL travellers in order to enter Uganda. The vaccine must be administered at least 10 days prior to your arrival, and you must carry an International Certificate of Vaccination provided by your physician; without it, you may be denied entry.

COVID-19 requirement

All travelers entering Uganda via Entebbe International Airport must provide printed, documented proof of a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test taken within 72 hours of boarding their flight to Uganda. Any person failing to present a negative COVID-19 PCR test result will not be allowed to enter the country. • All travelers must take an additional COVID-19 RT-PCR on arrival. The testing is performed at a facility near Entebbe International Airport and guests must wait (approximately 2-4 hours) for their result. If the result is negative, guests may continue with their scheduled journey.

Climate

It is sunny and green all year round with two distinct rainy seasons stretching from March to May and September to November. However, rain can occur at any time. The temperature average is 27C with the highest being 31C in the Karamoja and Kasese regions and the lowest being 15C in Kabale.

Money

American Express, Discover Cards and Mastercard’s are rarely accepted, except in few places. Visa Cards are readily accepted. Some large hotels, restaurants, travel agencies and shops in the urban areas accept credit cards. Traveler’s cheques are not widely accepted outside Kampala.
